About Us – Our Charitable Works

The Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller, holds tradition in the highest regard; however, nothing is more central to our vocation than expressing the love of Christ through acts of charity. Service to the sick, the poor, and the vulnerable has been the heart of the Hospitaller mission since the Order’s earliest days in Jerusalem.

Founded upon a legacy of medical care and compassion, the Order’s origins in healing continue to guide our charitable priorities today. We remain committed to supporting hospitals, advancing medical research, fostering emerging technologies that improve health outcomes, and assisting initiatives that safeguard future generations from preventable suffering.

Over the years, the NSW Priory has contributed significant financial support to major medical institutions across New South Wales. These contributions have included substantial donations to prominent hospitals and associated foundations in Sydney and the wider region.

One memorable initiative was the 2014 Annual Charity Luncheon, held in support of the Diabetes Centre at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. This event brought our members together in fellowship and service, helping raise vital funds for ongoing research and patient care.

To date, the NSW Priory of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller, has donated almost half a million dollars to a broad range of hospitals, foundations, and humanitarian causes. We gratefully welcome all contributions and ensure that administrative costs remain minimal, enabling the maximum possible benefit to reach those in need.

The Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller, Priory of NSW is fully registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). All donations of $2 or more made to the Order are tax deductible under Australian law.
